Dhaka, May 12, 2025 : Nasiruddin Patwari, Chief Coordinator of the National Citizens’ Committee (NCP), has expressed concern over a political party’s intention to assume power at Ganabhaban without undertaking necessary reforms.
He made these remarks on Monday evening at the party’s office in Banglamotor, reacting to the notification banning the activities of the Awami League.
Patwari stated, “We do not want any political party to face the same fate as the Awami League. Yet, a party now aims to reach Ganabhaban without any reforms.” He highlighted delays in announcing the July Charter due to political and advisory council conflicts, noting that it was supposed to be declared within 30 working days. “If the charter is not announced within this period, the public will not sit idly by the Yamuna; they will march inside,” he warned.
He further emphasized that while the ruling authority has changed, the system remains unchanged. Patwari also demanded reforms in the current tribunal and the establishment of an additional tribunal to address ongoing issues.
